What is Cryptocurrency
This page is a Fittyx learning article. It explains what cryptocurrency is and how it relates to spot trading on this platform. Fittyx also supports perpetual futures, options and copy trading. Trading still requires a logged-in account.
Trade spotWhat cryptocurrency is
Cryptocurrency is digital value that moves on a public network. Units are recorded on a blockchain. Bitcoin launched in 2009 and remains the best-known example. Other assets, such as those on Ethereum, use different networks and rules.
On Fittyx, you do not hold a private on-chain wallet for every trade. You hold an exchange account. Balances you see after a deposit are the platform's ledger of assets you can trade, withdraw or use in supported products.
How it differs from fiat money
Fiat money is issued by a government and usually moves through banks. Cryptocurrency is issued by a network, not by Fittyx. Transfer rules, fees and confirmation times belong to each network. Fittyx is a centralized exchange: matching happens on the platform after you sign in.
